ERIC!

We like any opportunity to brag on our members and share their successes at the gym. Today we are highlighting member Eric B., who started with us 4 years ago in the early stages of CrossFit Chapel Hill, as one of our original Boot Camp members. His progress in the gym is truly inspiring - starting from beginner movements and no experience with a barbell - to now easily performing multiple muscle ups, handstand walks, lifting all the heavy things, and generally being a rockstar RX athlete. He he even stays after class for extra credit work!

We are so happy to brag on Eric and have been lucky to share part of his CF journey with him.

"I’ve been an athlete all my life, but had never focused on weight lifting and was unsure where to start. I tried exercise apps and working out at home, but never stuck with it. Then I found CFCH. My CrossFit journey started in Boot Camp in 2018, which was a great introduction to lifting technique and where I got to know the coaches. Classes were a great challenge but also fun, and I felt like I was part of a community where it didn't matter how much I knew about lifting because the coaches supported me and cheered me on all the same. After two major surgeries in 2019 Morgan reached out to me to see how I was doing and encouraged me to come back to the gym when I was able. The CFCH community is full of kind, genuine people who happen to love CrossFit. This is a place where I feel comfortable and can push my limits. I am now going 5 days a week performing as an RX athlete, continue to set new PRs and have even conquered handstand walks and muscle ups. Each coach has taught me something new to improve my technique and mobility. Morgan, Mike and all the coaches and athletes at CFCH created the space to do this. Thank you CFCH for helping me see all I am capable of and helping me be my best self."
